Synchrony is a consumer financial services company with one of the industry’s most complete, digitally enabled product suites. To help bolster their visibility as an industry leader, Synchrony began to explore how they could elevate a physical space to showcase their innovation in digital and beyond.

To help bolster their visibility as an industry leader, Synchrony began to explore how they could elevate a physical space to showcase their innovation in digital and beyond.

Problem Presented: Showcase Innovation at Synchrony Through an Interactive Experience Center

When Synchrony sought to highlight their offerings to prospects and partners at their flagship New York City location, they looked to EP+Co. Tasked with concepting and building an interactive experience within a 2,000-square-foot office space, our first step was to dig into the primary user types and various use-case scenarios. Once those were clearly defined, we knew that Synchrony needed an experience that serviced vastly different audiences and was flexible enough to evolve over time. Using those as creative challenges, rather than limiting constraints, is what fueled our approach for execution.

Problem Presented: Showcase Innovation at Synchrony Through an Interactive Experience Center

When Synchrony sought to highlight their offerings to prospects and partners at their flagship New York City location, they looked to EP+Co. Tasked with concepting and building an interactive experience within a 2,000-square-foot office space, our first step was to dig into the primary user types and various use-case scenarios. Once those were clearly defined, we knew that Synchrony needed an experience that serviced vastly different audiences and was flexible enough to evolve over time. EP+Co’s Approach: Building a Foundation Today for Tomorrow's Innovations

After locking in our user types and primary use cases, a combination of stakeholder workshops, journey mapping, and user stories lead EP+Co to a unified approach for devices and hardware, digital touchpoints and interaction models, and even frameworks for content creation. Leveraging EP+Co’s Digital and Experiential capabilities, we crafted detailed user journeys that informed everything from the physical space layout and environment planning, to our wireframes and rapid prototypes — all in service of bringing a multi-touchpoint concept to life.

Created for both collaborative and presentation scenarios, the space includes a large interactive touch table where users can select one of many journeys, activating a visually captivating wall of LCD screens with additional content. Also featured is a collection of devices containing various financial product demos, allowing guests to experience Synchrony’s portfolio of financial innovations for themselves.

Rapid, in-person user testing prior to launch informed key refinements that ensured a smooth and successful rollout of the experience. Plus, the entire digital experience, from frontend development to backend content management systems, was custom built for Synchrony's specific needs.
